Allergic Rhinitis
This is an allergy of the nose and eye commonly referred to as “hay fever”. We evaluate this condition by a physical exam, skin test and nasal smears. Treatment includes prevention, medicines as well as allergy shots and immunotherapy.
Asthma
Asthma symptoms include shortness of breath, coughing, and wheezing. We evaluate asthma by an exam and breathing test. This condition is treated with medicine, including in-office nebulizer treatment. It can also be treated with “allergy shots” immunotherapy plus treatment with a new preventative medicine.
Drug Allergies
Symptoms of drug allergies include itchy hives, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and may be life threatning. It is diagnosed with a skin test, blood test, and drug challenge. Drug desensitization
Eczema
The major symptom of eczema is inflamed, itchy, dry skin. It is evaluated by an exam, skin test, and blood test and is treated with special skin care and medicine.
Food Allergy
Food allergy symptoms include itchy hives, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and may be life threatning. It is evaluated by a blood and skin test. Treated by prevention and medicine and accidental exposure.
Hives (Urticaria)
This is evaluated by exam, a skin or blood test, and is usually treated with medicine. The prime symptoms are itchy skin with “welts”.
